AAC, together with its members BAUER Röhren – und Pumpenwerk, ÖBSZ Austrian Federation for Sheep and Goats and ZAR Rinderzucht Austria, exhibited within the National Presentation of Austria organised by the Federal Chamber of Commerce WKO and its Kiev office in Hall 1A. In the same hall there were also present AAC companies Schauer Agrotronic and Wolf System.

The focus of the joint exhibition has been on:

• complete solutions solutions for crop farming: know-how and innovative technologies for smart farming and precision agriculture (technology for soil cultivation, seed processing, weather, water and nutrient management, crop protection, irrigation systems and wastewater technology)
• successful breeding concepts from Austria for cattle, sheep, goats and pigs
• innovative animal housing and feeding technology, nutritional concepts with sustainable and high-quality feed additives and veterinary diagnostics for healthy and profitable animal production
• integrated solutions for the milk & meat processing and food production

AAC participated within the National Exhibition of Austria, together with member companies Bertsch Group, Biomedica, Smartbow and partner WRM Consult. The Federal Association of Austrian Cattle Breeders (ZAR) and the Austrian Federal Association for Sheep and Goats (ÖBSZ) exhibited alongside. BAUER Group, Biomin, Cimbria, Titan Machinery Serbia with CASE IH, CNH Industrial brand STEYR with Serbian dealers and Schauer Agrotronic had individual indoor and outdoor exhibitions.

On May 17th, AAC hosted the Traditional Austria Evening. The yearly event reached its 13th edition and is organised in collaboration with the Austrian Embassy in Belgrade, the Attaché-office of the Federal Ministry of Sustainability and Tourism at the Austrian Embassy in Belgrade and AdvantageAustria Belgrade. Austria Evening offers a pleasant surrounding for guests to meet and connect.

In the opening session, Mihail Dumitru, Deputy Director-General of DG AGRI at the European Commission, delivered a lecture on the future of food and farming. Mr. Dumitru outlined the role of the EU agriculture against the current challenges and stakeholder expectations and its future common agricultural policy CAP with objectives and priorities of intervention.

AAC general manager Hermann Wieser gave an overview of the services and technologies offered by the AAC members, focusing on livestock production & food processing and smart farming technologies. He mentioned the intelligent eartag developed by Smartbow, the specifically designed Schauer Agrotronic SmartControl App for stall management, the smart sensors for weather, crop and soil monitoring developed by Pessl Instruments under the METOS® brand and the BAUER GPS-supported application SmartRain.

George Stanson, Business Manager at CNH Industrial and Svetoslav Pamukov, Retail Specialist – Bulgaria at CNH Industrial, presented the awards-winning product portfolio of Case IH and STEYR. Case IH counts 14 product lines with more than 220 models from 45 hp to 692 hp and developed an innovative track technology that leads to numerous benefits like better flotation and traction, and easier transport. Both Case IH and STYR Traktoren are offering best in class precision farming solutions, under the Advanced Farming Systems® (AFS) line.

The Austrian presentation stand was visited by BAAP representatives Ventsislav Varbanov and Ivaylo Todorov, as well as by Bulgarian Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, Rumen Porodzanov.

AAC’s focus this year was set on the presentation of Smart Farming Technologies for Precision Crop & Livestock Farming. The joining AAC members used the opportunity to introduce their technologies and services to an audience made up of more than 120 farmers. AAC also pointed out the core competence of the cluster in developing IPARD funded projects, showcasing Romania, with more than 400 IPARD projects successfully completed so far.

Also present was Vuk Radojević, Provincial Secretary of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry of the Autonomous Region of Vojvodina. In his speech, Mr. Radojević addressed the challenges of water management and irrigation in the Region of Vojvodina, as well as the available funding opportunities.

The AAC organised a 9 sqm stand at the exhibition facilities. Hermann Wieser, general manager of the Austrian Agricultural Cluster (AAC) and Martin Stegfellner, general manager of the Austrian Federal Association of Cattle Breeders represented the interest of the AAC members.

Companies, agricultural organisations and representatives of regional governments of countries like Ireland, Romania, Moldova, Russia, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and several African countries like South Africa, Tunisia, Egypt, Mali and Malawi presented their services and investment opportunities in the agricultural sector.

The visitors of Agriscape had been general managers and high-level representatives of major UAE and Middle East agricultural investment and food companies.

In the context of the fair, the Advantage Austria Office in Moscow organised on Oct. 5th an Austria Showcase containing a high-level Agri-Business Forum dedicated to the chances in the Russian agriculture, followed by a series of expert speeches and company presentations, B2B workshops and expert discussions. The AAC members presented their services and technologies with panel topic “Quality – Taste – Organic production – Success factors of Austrian milk & meat production”. The Showcase ended with a Networking Event of the Austrian business community that was well attended by Russian representatives of the public sector, agroholdings, farmers and lecturers of the Agri-Business Forum.

The AAC co-exhibited on the common stand of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce. Company WOLF Systembau as well as the Federal Association of Austrian Cattle Breeders (ZAR) and the Austrian Federal Association for Sheep and Goats (ÖBSZ) joined the common stand. Representatives of DataLab SR used the AAC stand facilities to present Pantheon Farming software solutions.

Following companies presented their technologies with stands in the outdoor areas: BAUER with irrigation technologies, TITAN Machinery with Case IH equipment. New representative of STEYR tractors in Serbia is company Restrade being also dealer for Pöttinger. Schauer Agrotronic was also present with a prominent stand in the outdoor area, with participation of the Austrian Pig Breeders Association. Cimbria Heid exhibited in the Master Hall.

Conference “National Rural Development Program – IPARD and National Funds – Smart Technologies” on May 17th 2017

The AAC in collaboration with the Austrian Economic Chamber Belgrade and the Agricultural Attaché Office Belgrade organised on the venue of the Novi Sad Fair a seminar on the Serbian Program for Rural Development (IPARD and national Funds) and its supportive measures of Smart Technologies along the food value chain agriculture – food processing – bioenergy. The event took place in collaboration with the farmers’ association KLUB 100 P Plus and the Serbian Ministry of Agriculture. KLUB 100 P Plus represents the interests of Serbian farmers with more than 100 ha agricultural land in the Region of Vojvodina. The goal of the event was to inform Serbian farmers and agribusinesses on Austrian Smart Farming Technologies.

Traditional Austrian Evening „Österreichabend“

The traditional Austrian Evening has grown over the years into a highlight of the Novi Sad Fair week. This year too, the event was a remarkable success, as we could welcome more than 200 high-ranking guests and receive utmost positive feedback. The Austrian Evening offers a pleasant and efficient framework to strengthen relationships, build new contacts and generate new business opportunities.
