AAC at the Bulgarian Farmers’ 6th National Meeting

Bulgarian Association of Agricultural Producers BAAP organised in Varna its 6th National Meeting. The event comprised besides company presentations primarily lectures on the Bulgarian national agricultural policy and was attended by around 300 participants.

AAC participated in the event together with member companies BAUER Slurry & Irrigation Technology, CNH Industrial, Schauer Agrotronic and ZAR Federal Association of Austrian Cattle Breeders.

Advantage Austria Sofia organised an Austrian Stand on the conference premises, for Austrian companies to present their services and hold discussions with the interested audience.

In the opening session, Mihail Dumitru, Deputy Director-General of DG AGRI at the European Commission, delivered a lecture on the future of food and farming. Mr. Dumitru outlined the role of the EU agriculture against the current challenges and stakeholder expectations and its future common agricultural policy CAP with objectives and priorities of intervention.

AAC general manager Hermann Wieser gave an overview of the services and technologies offered by the AAC members, focusing on livestock production & food processing and smart farming technologies. He mentioned the intelligent eartag developed by Smartbow, the specifically designed Schauer Agrotronic SmartControl App for stall management, the smart sensors for weather, crop and soil monitoring developed by Pessl Instruments under the METOS® brand and the BAUER GPS-supported application SmartRain.

George Stanson, Business Manager at CNH Industrial and Svetoslav Pamukov, Retail Specialist – Bulgaria at CNH Industrial, presented the awards-winning product portfolio of Case IH and STEYR. Case IH counts 14 product lines with more than 220 models from 45 hp to 692 hp and developed an innovative track technology that leads to numerous benefits like better flotation and traction, and easier transport. Both Case IH and STYR Traktoren are offering best in class precision farming solutions, under the Advanced Farming Systems® (AFS) line.

The Austrian presentation stand was visited by BAAP representatives Ventsislav Varbanov and Ivaylo Todorov, as well as by Bulgarian Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, Rumen Porodzanov.
